CUES A personal pool cue is paramount in improving the player’s game of billiards. A pool cue stick consists of a bottom butt bumper designed to absorb impact when the cue touches the floor, the but end of the cue stick for a player to hold, a center joint where the top and bottom pieces join, the shaft portion (upper end), a ferrule at the tip's end and the cue tip.

Many players today are missing the enjoyment of sinking ball after ball through proper cue tip shaping and knowledge of their cues potential.

For me, I will take the time to shape my cue tip so when the cue ball strikes the object ball using a little left draw the cue ball will move to the left of that object ball positioning my next shot closer.

Always remember the closer the easier and in this game of pool we typically win or loose by two to three shots. The cue ferrule is commonly white in color and provides a base for the tip to glue and allows for harder impacting.

A cues shaft (top half) is made of wood and is equipped with a taper so you have a choice in how thin or thick the wood becomes for a players comfort.

In the center of your pool cue is the joint which can be made from a variety of materials and allows for the pool cue to be separated and easily stored in the players cue case for travel.

Last is the bottom or butt end of the cue which also can be made from a variety of woods and designs allowing choices for players.
