6 Practical Game Room Ideas for a More Enjoyable Holiday

With Christmas approaching, make sure your game room is set up for the holidays as much as possible with these awesome holiday game room ideas

It’s the holiday season, you have a spare room, and you’re not sure what to do with it. Don’t worry; we got you covered here. We’re helping you create a holiday-themed game room to get into the holiday spirit.

These days, gaming isn’t confined to children, toddlers, or “geeks” — we all need an outlet for our daily stress and, we have to admit, Christmas could be a very stressful time. Whether your game room is a winter wonderland theme, or you want to deck it out in all things red and green, we know the options are limitless.

Here are 10 awesome game room ideas to get yourself in “the spirit” this holiday season.

1. Include Extra Seating for Family Visits

Before determining what theme you want for your room, you have to take into account the square footage of the space. It can be a large room or just a nook in the living space where you can set up a small gaming area.Yes, even a tiny corner of your bedroom would work.

When wanting to add game room furniture, make sure that the space isn’t too big or too small. Although this room is meant to cater to the whims of you (and possibly family members during Christmas) you have to think about the layouts in order to accommodate appropriate decor like trees and seating.

If your space is small and can’t fit a large entertainment center with speakers and game consoles, consider going for a minimalist yet modest design plan.

One fun holiday-themed idea that’s super easy for a game room is to get a computer desk with a gaming chair, some funky LED lights, and maybe some bean bags and furry white throw blankets and pillow to mimic snow. Get yourself rounded shelving to mimic igloos and store all your video games.

2. Soundproofing for Your Personal Space for Karaoke

Your game room can be a pretty noisy zone, and most gamers enjoy the game with full immersion (a.k.a. loudness). So playing games on low volume isn’t realistic. However, soundproofing your game room leading into the holiday season (did somebody say karaoke?) is an inspiring solution to this problem.

A simple paneling and rubber lining on the doors or windows will be a great help in keeping your gaming confined to the room. You can have glass doors to your holiday gaming room if you are privileged enough. If correctly installed, not only do they
Soundproof your space but also create a marvelous game station experience.

3. Make it Inviting, Make it Warm

Your game room setup can be of any variety to reflect your style and preferences like the rest of your house. But what matters the most when trying to get into the holiday spirit is to choose an appropriate and warm theme.

We mentioned throw blankets and pillows previously, but warm lights (yes, Christmas lights) are a perfect addition to the game room! I personally have Christmas lights hanging around my space year-round because it’s beautiful lighting that automatically creates a warm atmosphere.

Take a look at how this room uses Christmas lights for a warm, inviting atmosphere! Hang them from the ceiling to create draped overhead lighting or line them across your ceiling, floors, or even wrap them around your platform bed for a glowy floating affect!

4. Don’t Ignore Your Gaming Chair

You wouldn’t want to decorate your game room without getting yourself a comfortable chair, right? Gaming chairs are a blessing that provides lumbar support to your back, so you shall play games for long hours without getting your back hurt.

Check out some super comfy and affordable game chairs here.

5. Wide Monitor or Projector

Here’s the thing: Everyone loves a good Christmas movie. Watching Macaulay Culkin sing “White Christmas” in Home Alone with your friends is always a good time. Now try doing that on a PC… quite the challenge. So investing in a wide monitor or projector is your best bet for a homemade theater. And one of the many benefits of installing a projector in your game room is that you’re able to expand the size of the screen.

Now all you need to do is make sure it’s connected to some speakers. Throw a mountain of white, red, and green blankets and pillows on the floor and invite everyone over! And thanks to the soundproofing you did from point two earlier, “White Christmas” will be contained in your holiday fort.

6. Bring the Forest Indoors… Gamer Style

Now comes the fun part. Your room is equipped with everything you thought of — fur throw blankets, red and green pillows, beautiful Christmas lights dangling from the ceiling. But one of the most popular symbols of Christmas is the tree. And what better way to create that holiday spirit than with a Christmas tree.

We put trees in our homes all the time — so why not do the same for your game room. We already talked about how the layout and size of your space will affect the furniture and other decor pieces you include. This is true with finding the right tree, too.

The great thing is there are so many different trees on the market. There are smaller sized Christmas trees with lights that are perfect for placing on a desk or table for those smaller spaces.

If you have some space to spare, you could also consider a normal-sized tree with game-themed tree decorations to integrate your love for games and Christmas!

In Summary:

At the end of the day, your game room is based on your style and budget. If you don’t have a limited budget, the sky is the limit. Still, you can set an appealing room within your budget range even during the holidays.

9 underrated ways to accessorize your game room in 2021

Get ready to accessorize your game room with these simple yet overlooked game room decor ideas

You know what sounds nice: Designing a room in your space that’s dedicated solely to the love of gaming without spending loads of money. (Yes, we’re also drooling at the image of a beautiful game room and a bank account that isn’t crying.)

We’re no strangers to game room decoration ideas. We have an article dedicated to game room decor ideas for dads — some of which included wine corks and beer. We’ve also given tips on how to create the perfect game room (projectors and tabletop games definitely made a cameo).

Since accessories can bring an additional layer of depth to your game room/space, this 2021 guide to home game room accessories is designed to give a little something for every type of game enthusiast. We’ll be addressing accessories that also provide comfort, posture, and all of that jazz, too, so get into relaxation mode.

GAME ROOM IDEAS TO TRANSFORM YOUR SPACE IN 2021

Over the years, serious gamers have acquired a vast collection of favorite games, consoles, and other assorted merchandise.

1. PILLOWS/PILLOW COVERS

Pillows are meant to keep your spine in a neutral position. They align your neck with the rest of your body, which supports good posture. However, we’re talking about gaming here, not sleeping. Nonetheless, the same benefits apply if you’re sitting upright for long periods of time! Without pillows, there’s added stress on your back and neck, making it hard for your spine to maintain its natural curve. Sleeping or sitting without a pillow could cause discomfort in the long run. Not sure what kind of gaming pillows or pillow covers are out there to suit your game room? How about this extra large all-things-game-room pillow or this controller shaped pillow to start?

2. CLOCKS

Clock helps us to manage our lives. We depend on them for our routine activities from wake up in the morning to sleep at night. It helps to be everywhere on time and when it comes to gaming, this small device can prove to be extra handy. Don’t want to lose track of time in the game room? Spruce things up by hanging unique clocks on the walls. What about this billiards wall clock — shaped just like a triangular rack with billiard balls as the time.

classic-video-game-room3. BOOKCASES

Bookshelves, CD racks, and wall-mounted items allow you to properly display and easily access your entire collection. Sprinkle in a few toys and game-related merchandise and your game room library will be a marvelous sight to behold.

4. FLOATING SHELVES

This isn’t to be confused with bookshelves like we mentioned above. While similar, floating shelves don’t take up space and are meant to display more specific prized gaming pieces like exotic wooden game pieces or vintage poker chips, dice, playing cards.

5.RUGS

RugsIf you want to change the focal point of a room and add a visual divider that makes a space feel more cozy and comfortable, a rug is your answer. The game room is probably already nifty, but a rug will make the room look connected and cohesive — super relevant for a game room where there are many elements involved, but one common theme of gaming. Whether you’re choosing a fluorescent rug that lights up in the dark or an arcade-themed throw rug, you’ll take your game room to the next level.

6.WALLPAPER

Wallpaper has gone in and out of style for centuries, but it’s always been a good choice to create an attractive design without permanently altering your walls. Use a stylish pattern that matches your favorite game color to make a wall pop with color or texture!

7. LED “FLOATING” LIGHTS

game-room-led-lighting-solid-apollo-ledWhy do we like the “vibes” of a pool hall so much? We’re going to say it’s because of the lighting and we’re convinced that the dimly lit spaces does something to the game (a.k.a. makes it better). Not only is LED highly energy efficient (less heat, more light, lower cost) but it makes any space look that much more awesome! Whether you choose to line your ceilings or place LED lights beneath pieces of furniture for a floating effect or line inside your game table, the choice is yours.

8. CHAIRS

We’ve all heard of the term ergonomic, and if you haven’t, well you have now. When sitting for long periods of time (in which case a game room will make this happen), you’ll need a good chair that provides proper lumbar and pelvic support so your back muscles aren’t stressed. With lumbar and pelvic support comes better posture, better breathing, and less fatigue. Do yourself a favor and don’t settle for a basic office chair when chairs and sofas like this and this exist for your game room.

9. STORAGE BOXES/CONTAINERS

Frames are a key ingredient in the brilliant experience created by the artwork for the viewer. Not only do they enhance the final look of the piece of work being displayed, but they also protect it. Your game room walls could use a little dressing up, and posters have it handled. Keep things classic with a retro gaming poster or go modern with a minimal remote control poster set.

10. POSTERS/FRAMES

gaming-5-panel-canvas-art-wall-decorFrames are a key ingredient in the brilliant experience created by the artwork for the viewer. Not only do they enhance the final look of the piece of work being displayed, but they also protect it. Your game room walls could use a little dressing up, and posters have it handled. Keep things classic with a retro gaming poster or go modern with a minimal remote control poster set.

IN CONCLUSION

As we’ve seen, game enthusiasts take the opportunity to showcase their love for overall entertainment by intertwining film, board games, traditional arcade machines, and non-electronic games of the past.

Whatever your budget, or ideas about how to design and decorate a room for gaming, use the chance to express yourself freely, indulging in whimsical wall art design, fun, festive colors, and plenty of memorabilia or collectibles.

The secret to coming up with a quality room for games room ideas is to remember the spirit of play is at the heart of the space, so feel free to try out quirky, colorful, and energetic decorating concepts.

The Most Unique Game Room Ideas That You Can Add Into Your Game Room

Unique Game Room Ideas

If you’re looking to get some inspiration for your home game room, don’t fear — we at Games For Fun are presenting you with some of the coolest game room ideas in this blog. After this, we don’t doubt that you’ll be fully equipped to a) win over the kids b) win over the neighbors c) win over the spouse or d) simply win.

Outdoor Fun…Indoors

Swingin’ into the fun! Have you ever considered how fun it’ll be to have an indoor slide added to your home game room? It sounds a bit intense, but it’s totally doable (and, did we mention, it’s also really gnarly). In this article on Home Beautiful, a twisty slide is added to a game room for a visually unexpected, edgy addition. See you later, Six Flags! If adding a slide into your game room isn’t considered a unique game room idea, we don’t know what is!

Slide to the left! On that same note, if you don’t have enough room to build a slide, opt for an indoor swing instead. No matter how much space you have to use, we believe that any space is enough space for a good time (and creative takes on the standard game room). Adding a swing will make the game room feel more personalized and unique. Plus, the swing set is always our first stop at the park anyway…right? Whether you are going for a hammock for a peaceful game room, a wooden chair for a fun outdoor vibe, or even a tire for a more rustic look, adding a swing could make for an extra awesome game room.

George of the Jungle…Gym. There are also few things that are more exciting than having a jungle gym inside the house and, more specifically, adding that jungle gym into your game room. Whether you add a rope wall, ladder, or something else, these outdoor activities can add some pizzazz to your home game room.

Leisure Activities

Let’s go to the movies. Sometimes, having fun doesn’t need to be competitive (but, at the same time, you want to still have the option to challenge someone to a game of ping pong or billiards). If you want to create a unique game room, why not add a movie projector? This creates a well-rounded space dedicated to entertaining so your guests could either be hands-on and play some games, or relax and watch their favorite movie.

Slam dunking in the fun. There’s the Pop-A-Shot electronic basketball game, and then there’s the real deal. We’re talking about mounting a basketball backboard onto a wall to create a half-court and to also out-awesome some of the most awesome game room ideas. This one might require some space or a high ceiling, but it’s worth trying it in smaller spaces with open flooring.

Bars and games. It doesn’t get much better than that. We’re all familiar with pool halls — dim-lit atmosphere with beer and billiards (or something close enough to that description). There’s no denying that booze and games are quite an entertaining combo. That’s why some of the coolest game room ideas we’ve come across are designed with a bar department. You could do a victorian-style bar, a modern, sleek, and dark bar, or create your own style from scratch!

Themes! Themes! Themes!

Sports heads. So, maybe you can’t decide on which of your favorite sports team to showcase in your cool home game room renovation. Why not showcase all of them with a sports-themed game room. Deck out the walls in notable colors and mascots, and add accompanying accessories such as color-coordinated chairs, large rugs that boast your favorite team, neon signs, wall posters, and more! And when it’s game day, you know where everybody in the neighborhood will be going to watch the game.

Gaming up the game room. If you’ve never thought about increasing your home game room appeal by giving it a game theme, think again. This Minecraft-inspired home game room comes equipped with distinguished colors, a variety of wall art, matching sofas, and the actual game for the cherry on top. If this sounds like a cool game room idea, but you don’t know where to start, we’ll help. If you plan on drawing inspiration from this cool game room idea, start with your favorite game first:

  1. If you can’t think of one, go with the first game that popped into your head for easy selection.
  2. Pinpoint the game’s primary colors (ex: Mario is Red, blue, white, and gold).
  3. Start figuring out what kind of furniture you want in the game room. Things like sofas, stools, tables, rugs, pillows, throw blankets, and even curtains, cups, coasters, and lighting could all add to the theme.
  4. Think about placement. If you intend on including your favorite game into the game room, be sure there’s enough room for the game machine in addition to the other elements. The last thing you would want is to purchase items only to find out that you don’t have enough room to fit everything. Save yourself the hassle and measure, plan your space, and create a list of what can fit.

Lights, camera…actually, just lights. Natural light is great, but so is ambient lighting designed and situated for optimum coolness. Adding LED lights throughout your home game room could set the tone for whether you want to be a winner, or not. Lights could be used in just about any way to turn any standard game room into the ultimate light show. You could add lights behind fixtures for a unique silhouette glow, trail lights across the ceiling walls and floors, add big and bold neon signs, get changing lights for a taste of the rainbow, take advantage of lights that project images such as the night sky or unique designs, and even add candles if you’re into a more relaxed form of entertainment. You could choose to use all the methods listed, or just one. But the goal is the more lights, the better.

Go Big Or Go Home

So, what’d you think about our list of awesome game room ideas? Some might have been over-the-top and some might have been a bit out of the average Joe’s budget, but, in the event that you have the resources to try out one of these cool ideas for your home game room, make sure to take photos! Now, what are ya’ waiting for? You’ve seen these awesome game room ideas and have been inspired. Now take that inspiration and create something cool for your home game room.

Game On: Four Companies’ Killer Office Break Rooms

A lot has changed since the days of the cutthroat rigidity of the corporate world.  We are seeing companies take a softer approach and putting their attention to offering relief for an overworked or overstressed team. In order for employees to be fully engaged, motivated, and productive during the entire day, they need to have a balance of work and play.

One tactic that companies are using to create this balance is through their office game rooms. Implementing games inside offices may sound like a waste of time, but hard-working employees know that momentary game of ping pong or pool is just a few steps away.

Businesses are set on finding top talent by creating a workplace that projects a sense of creativity and company culture.

Check out how these companies enhance company morale through their fun office break room ideas:

Airbnb

office

With over 300,000 listings worldwide and over 10 million nights booked, it’s no mystery that Airbnb’s break room culture contributes to their success. These employees enjoy a ping pong table, weekly yoga classes, and a kitchen outfitted with a chef who cooks lunch every day. Having games such as ping pong helps employees learn how to work together in a relaxed and fun manner. They are building team skills without the stress of daily work tasks.

Taboola

office

Taboola cares about cultivating a rich culture for the company and its employees; so much so that it has appointed an internal committee to oversee the assembly of fun office events on a monthly basis. Employees can escape from their busy work days and shoot some hoops with their arcade-like basketball hoop.  Don’t forget that kegerator either!

DHL

office

The interior of DHL’s office is a combination of both elegant and modern employee-friendly spaces. To match the office rooms, their game rooms are neatly organized with their brand colors and games such as darts, foosball, and video games. If employees don’t feel like playing an action-packed game, they can unwind on a soft bean bag.

Bleacher Report

Bleacher Report’s vision for their office blends the culture and lifestyle of their followers as well as the teams they cover- blurring the lines between fan and celebrity, team and spectator. With a plethora of games such as ping pong, foosball, and air hockey, employees can immerse themselves in a creative space that will carry over into their work. This type of break room builds exciting moments that evoke the importance of exploration and team involvement.

Unique break rooms in the office that are created for fun that are branded and authentic don’t happen by accident; they take intentional planning and design. Simply adding a game table may not be enough, and without careful design things may come off looking unprofessional. But done right, a game room could inject your workspace with the startup vibe we all strive for, help grow a sense of community and attract and retain talent.

Games For Fun supplies many Southern California companies with games for their office break rooms. Stop by our showroom in San Bernardino today or give us a call, and we can help you find the perfect game for your office.

We are open Monday – Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Finding The Right Length For Your Shuffleboard Table

After deciding to purchase a shuffleboard table, the next step is figuring out what size table will be right for you. Having a gorgeous piece of entertainment in your home such as a shuffleboard table requires some thought, as these game tables take up a good amount of room.

Our two main carriers for shuffleboard tables is California House and our original collection, Generations.

Our showroom in San Bernardino has every size available for shuffleboard tables. Our team can  help you find the right table size and style for your home. We are right off of the 215 freeway on Rialto Ave.

Shuffleboard table sizes can vary from 9 feet to 22 feet. The best length for you will depend on the amount of space you have available.

Here are the different sizes for shuffleboard:

Small: 9 – 12 feet

If you are just beginning to play shuffleboard, a 9 to 12-foot table is a great option. These tables provide great, laid-back entertainment with budget-friendly choices. The smaller tables allow for players of all ages and levels to enjoy. It is most common for regular households to have a smaller sized table.

Medium: 14 – 16 feet

Medium sized tables tend to be better for more serious players who plan to get a lot of use out of the game but still have some space restrictions. These tables are great for smaller game rooms as they still provide the experience of a full sized table on a lower scale. The length will give you enough room to play with more difficulty than tables around 9 to 12 feet.

Large: 18 – 22 feet

The official length for professional shuffleboard matches is 22 feet, but even 18 feet is quite long for casual players. If you are able to accommodate a table in this size range, you will be adding a unique and gorgeous game table in your space. These larger lengths allow for players to really test their skills.

Regardless of what size table you choose, one factor to keep in mind is the space around the table. You will want to table at least two feet open on each side to give players ample room to get behind and bend over for proper stance and shooting.

If you would like more insight on what type of table would be right for your home, stop by our showroom. Our team can show you each size in person and help you decide what will be best for your home.

We are open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN POOL, SNOOKER, AND BILLIARDS

For many players, terms such as billiards, pool, and snooker are used interchangeably to describe a cue game. Even though these games are very similar, there are distinctions in their play.

Each of these cue sports brings different types of enjoyment for players.

Our showroom in San Bernardino has a variety of tables, cues, balls, and accessories for billiards, pool, and snooker. Due to being in the billiards business for 35 years, we have an extensive selection of antique and modern models for every aspect of these games. Visit us off of the 215 freeway, our team would be happy to help you find the right type of game that fits your style.

If you are just beginning to play the classic games, it can be difficult recognizing the differences between pool, snooker, and billiards.

We broke down the characteristics of these three popular cue sports:

Billiards

Carom billiards is the official name of this specific game, while billiards represents the generic term for all three of these cue sports.

Table: Billiards tables are usually ten feet by five feet. Compared to pool and snooker, billiards is unique in the way that the table will not have pockets.

Balls: Billiards is played using three balls with one white, one red and one yellow. The yellow and white balls are used as cue balls for each player.

Objective:  The main objective of billiards is to score points (known as counts) by bouncing one’s own ball off of the other two balls on the table. Points can be scored through potting, in-offs, and cannons. The game is normally played in a race to reach a certain number of points or as a timed game.

Pool

In today’s society, the term “pool” is used much more than any other game term.

Table: Pool is played on the smallest table of the three games. The average table size for pool is six feet by three feet. This size makes the game typically easier to play when compared to billiards and snooker.

Balls: There are many variations of pool that depict the number of balls being used. The two most common are eight-ball and nine-ball.

Objective: In 8-ball pool, there are seven solid and seven striped balls and one 8 black ball. In order to win, the player must pot his specific balls (solids or stripes) and then finish with the black 8-ball. In 9-ball pool, only nine balls are on the table. Each player pots the balls in order of number. The person to pot the 9 ball wins.

Snooker

Snooker is known to be one of the more complicated cue sports.

Table: Snooker is played with the biggest table at twelve feet by six feet.

Balls: Snooker uses 22 balls including a white “striker” ball. There are 15 red, along with the object balls: 1 yellow, 1 brown, 1 blue, 1 pink, 1 black, and 1 green. Each colored ball has a designated spot on the table.

Objective: The main objective of snooker is to pocket more balls than your opponent. Once the 15 red balls have been pocketed, the remaining colored balls must be pocketed in a specific order.

It is common for people to refer to billiards, pool, and snooker loosely, but each game brings a different type of competition and enjoyment.

We have brand new billiards tables available in our showroom and online! Our team has designed four new tables under our original collection of Generations pool tables.

If you would like to see these tables and the rest of our collection in person, visit us in our showroom. We are open Monday – Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Our team can provide you with everything you need to know about these games.

Learn more about McDermott pool cues at Games For Fun:

Quality of McDermott Cues

Craftsmanship is a fine art. McDermott utilizes a process that includes over 150 separate procedures in the construction of each cue. All shafts start from the finest kiln-dried, hand-selected North American Hard Rock maple and turned 11 times for stability. All forearms, handles and sleeves are handcrafted from the finest and most exotic woods from around the world.

H, G, and Select Series

McDermott Cues come in three separate series: H-Series, G-Series, and Select Series.

 McDermott Cues

H-Series: The brand new H-Series is the first line of cues ever to feature the fully-adjustable Variable Balance Point (VBP) weight system. This breakthrough is made possible by the new patented technology that combines a full-length carbon fiber core with a rail, on which the weights can be repositioned forward or backward inside the cue. No other cue allows you to have this much control over both the weight and balance.

 McDermott Cues

G-Series: McDermott G-Series cues are known for their quality construction, exotic woods, intricate inlays and limitless customization options.

 McDermott Cues

Select Series: McDermott Select Series cues are equipped standard with i-Pro Slim or i-3 shafts for high performance at an affordable price.

Star Pool Cues

 McDermott Cues

Star cues feature premium maple and exotic woods mixed with intricate 4-color overlays. Manufactured globally using McDermott’s technology, these cues provide the highest quality hit in their price range. They are covered by a limited lifetime warranty.

Lucky Pool Cues

 McDermott Cues

Lucky cues feature premium maple and intricate graphic overlays. This provides you with exceptional value for one of the most solid-hitting, globally-manufactured cues in the industry. They are covered by a three-year limited warranty.

Sledgehammer Break Cues

 McDermott Cues

Sledgehammer is one of the most recognized and respected names in dedicated break cues. The patented ferrule technology found in the SH1 optimizes energy transfer, resulting in extreme power and accuracy. Known to many as the hardest and most solid hitting break cue on the market, the Sledgehammer simply destroys a rack, leaving your competition speechless.

Stinger Break/Jump Cues

 McDermott Cues

The Stinger technology takes the hit energy to the center of the shaft, regardless of where you hit the tip. The tip can be shaped flatter than a typical break cue’s tip. The flatter profile causes the Stinger tip to have a huge “sweet spot.†You can mishit and still get the result you intended. The tip features a “stinger†stem that projects downward through a hole in the center of the ferrule. On impact, the shock of the hit goes to the center of the tip and down the stinger stem, transmitting the impact directly to the center of the shaft. This results in a very efficient, precise hit.

How To Replace A Broken Foosball Player

While foosball tables are known to be tough and sturdy, they are not completely indestructible. After too much intensity from a tournament or regular wear and tear over the years, it is common to break a foosball player.

Fortunately, if you spend years playing and investing in your foosball table and a player breaks, all it needs is a simple replacement.

Our team here at Games For Fun has been working with foosball tables and parts for decades. Regardless of brand or model, we can help get your table back to it’s best condition. Along with our foosball selection online, our showroom in San Bernardino holds everything you need to maintain the quality of your table for years.

Got a broken player? Follow these steps to replace foosball men and get back to playing:

Step 1: Supplies

Having the right tools to replace your players is crucial. Here’s what you need:

Step 2: Prep

Replacing foosball players does not take too much prep, but it is important in order to keep your table clean and in good shape. Before any replacement is done, set a towel down onto the base of the table to catch any pieces that may fall off during the process. Having a towel down will also protect any potential damage that could be caused by installing the pin punch.

Step 3: Removal

To remove the pin of the broken player, use your pin punch and hammer it out.  The wooden block should be placed under the rod to help prevent your rod from bending or warping while you hammer out the old pin. Once the pin is out of the player, it will easily slide off of the rod. Removing rods from a foosball table is simple and easy. Simply unscrew the bearings on each side of the table to slide the rod out.

Step 4: Replacement

Foosball player replacement is similar to removal. Simply slide in your new players onto the rod and align them to the holes with the pin punch. Before you hammer the pins back in place, make sure to keep the wooden block under the rod again to prevent warping. After all of the players are secure, screw the bumpers back into the table.

If you are unsure about what type of replacement parts you may need for your foosball table or need further assistance on how to replace a player properly, our team would be happy to help. Most Common Mistakes In Billiards

Mastering billiards is no easy feat. With so many angles and ways to shoot, one bad shot can open yourself up to a game-winning run by your opponent.

We have been in the billiards industry for 35 years. Since then, we have seen the evolution of billiards transform with styles and designs, but one thing remains constant: players struggle with many of the same mistakes.

Since 1984, we have been the leader in the pool table industry in Southern California. Our showroom in San Bernardino has a wide variety of modern and vintage billiards tables, billiards cues and balls, and accessories including training tools that can completely transform your skill.

Do you seem to have lost your touch around the felt?  Here are some common mistakes to help you turnaround your 8-ball, 9-ball, or cutthroat game:

Raising or Dropping Your Cue

Regardless if you are a beginner or expert, every player learns quickly that angle is everything. In order to get the perfect shot, you must have your cue set up properly. An unleveled cue will result in an inaccurate aim. Raising or dropping your cue stick before shooting is going to alter your precision; it’s important to keep it even and balanced throughout your shot. One way to ensure you don’t make this mistake on a particularly tough angle is by using a bridgehead.

Pulling Your Cue Back Before The Shot

One of the biggest causes of missed shots comes from pulling back the cue stick before shooting. The game of billiards is sensitive; any extra movement will modify where the cue ball will go. Jerking back to get more power will work against you in most cases. Make sure to pull back the cue stick slowly and fluidly, then follow through with your shot and try to imagine your grip hand swinging all the way to the object ball.

Too Much Impact

For some reason, we all have the natural desire to give our shots as much power as possible to get our object ball in the right place. But when there is too much power, it becomes much more difficult to control your cue and your aim. The important skill to master in billiards is control; don’t be afraid to slow down and loosen up! Giving your shot too much impact will cause you to have a bumpy ride.

The best thing to do when playing billiards is not to overthink your shot, and enjoy the game. If you have any questions regarding billiards, stop by our showroom in San Bernardino. We have a team of experts who would love to help you.
